There are many programs at Rose Hill as well as in FCPS that support the implementation of evidence-based practices to increase the academic achievement and the social and emotional competence of students based on individual needs.
Rebecca DiBari
Mrs. DiBari was born & raised right outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She attended West Virginia University and received her Masters in Education, specializing in Special Education. After leaving Morgantown, she moved to Alexandria & started her career at Rose Hill Elementary. Mrs. DiBari is going into her 11th year teaching at Rose Hill. Family is super important to Mrs. DiBari, and last year she started her very own! Her son Vincent will be turning one at the end of Aug 2020. She adores him and loves being a mom!
Catherine Kim
Ms. Kim grew up in this area, and graduated from Bishop O’Connell HS in Falls Church. She met her husband while attending the University of Virginia, and she graduated with degrees in English Literature as well as Education. She has enjoyed teaching for almost 20 years in a variety of settings, from preschool to high school. Her time outside of school is divided among her three kids, reading, baking, and crafting.
Kathryn Furney
This is Ms. Swenson’s 5th year as a Rose Hill Rocket! She is a teacher in Rose Hill’s Enhanced Autism Program and is excited to be working with grades K-2nd this school year. Ms. Swenson has a Master’s degree in Special Education from George Mason University. She is passionate about her students and building meaningful bonds with each of them. She enjoys getting to know each of her students in order to provide a motivating and positive learning environment. Ms. Swenson is looking forward to a fantastic school year! GO ROCKETS!
Breanne Case
Miss Case comes from a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She got her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Penn State University and moved to Northern Virginia to start her career. Miss Case loves cheering on the Nittany Lions! This is her 8th year at Rose Hill Elementary and her third year in 5th grade! She loves cooking, staying active, and being outside! She loves spending time with her family, especially her 2 nephews and niece. She visits them often and loves to watch them grow!
Alanna Wims
Mrs. Wims was born just north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She attended Slippery Rock University where she majored in Elementary and Special Education. She then moved to Alexandria, VA where she began teaching and received her Master’s Degree in Special Education from George Mason University. This is Mrs. Wims 8th year teaching Special Education at Rose Hill and she loves being a rocket! She and her husband recently bought a house and they love spending there time at home, cooking great food, watching sports and cuddling with their pup Bentley!
Allison Young
Ms. Young was born and raised in Jackson, New Jersey. She attended East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Special Education. She is very excited to begin her teaching career at Rose Hill as a first year teacher. In her free time she loves going to the beach, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Dora Larbi
Ms. Larbi was born in Ghana and graduated from Skeondi College (Ghana, West Africa) with a bachelors in Accounting. She has been with Rose Hill Elementary for 20 years. 18 of those years were in preschool as a Instructional Assistant and the last 2 years as General Ed (IA).
Rangasri Potluri
Mrs. Potluri has been working at Rose hill for 16 years and has Masters degree from AU university. She has some computer skills in Java, C++, SQL. She is passionate, loving, and enjoys working with kids.
Elizabeth Rutler
Christina Triolo
Mrs. Triolo is in her fifth at Rose Hill Elementary as an enhanced autism IA. She is originally from New York. She graduated from Wagner College where she went to school and earned her degree in elementary education with her BS in biology. She has three wonderful boys who are 13, 15, and 17 years old. She has a wonderful husband whom she has been married to now for 21 years.
Dakotah Turner
Stephanie Smith
Mrs. Smith is originally from central Illinois and graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Political Science. She moved to the DC region almost thirty years ago and spent a decade working and living in Africa. Returning to the region she became a Rose Hill parent and began advocating for special education and inclusion of students with disabilities. She has served as the Franconia representative to the FCPS Advisory Committee for Students with Disabilities since 2022 and is on the board of other parent organizations advocating for special education in FCPS. This advocacy sparked an interest in special education, and she joined the Rose Hill staff. She is pursuing a degree in special education. She loves spending time with her husband and son and to relax she enjoys baking, reading and knitting.
