Fairfax County Public Schools offers a continuum of advanced academic services for students K-12 that builds upon students’ individual strengths and skills and maximizes academic potential for all learners.
Our Rose Hill Advanced Academic resource teacher (AART), Ms. Karas, collaborates with the school staff to determine the appropriate level of advanced academic services. Parents may refer their child for advanced academic services or get additional information on the screening process or advanced academic opportunities at Rose Hill by contacting Ms. Karas. Ongoing observation and assessment ensures that student needs are being met.
Mrs. Karas earned her Bachelor of Science Degree with Honors in Psychology and her Master’s Degree in Education (Curriculum and Instruction) from George Mason University. She has lived in Northern Virginia all her life and graduated from Mount Vernon High School. This year marks her twelfth year as a teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools. She enjoys reading, spending time with her family (husband (Mike), adult twins (Katie and Matt), and her two toy poodles (Shadow and Sweet Pea)), and traveling! She is looking forward to her second year as the AART at Rose Hill ES and Fairfax Villa ES. Go Rockets!!!
