Ms. Ferenz earned her bachelor’s degree in music education from Shepherd University in West Virginia, and then joined the United States Navy Band program to perform music around the world before settling in Fairfax County. After teaching music in FCPS for three years, Ms. Ferenz earned a master’s degree in social work from George Mason University because she wanted to take a deeper dive in creating environments that promote socio-emotional development in all aspects of children’s lives through the expressive arts. She is so excited to be merging her passions of music and working with children to build their self-efficacy. Ms. Ferenz is a devoted dog mom to three sweet pups, and she loves to be outdoors, travel, and organize things.
Mr. Postman is a music teacher at RHES. He is from Yorktown, VA in the Hampton Roads region. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Music and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Virginia Tech. He worked as a band teacher in Bedford County and a substitute teacher in Prince William and Loudon counties before coming to Fairfax County. This is Mr. Postman’s 6th year at RHES. In addition to teaching, he enjoys baking, cooking, jogging, traveling, attending concerts and musicals, and watching Hokie football and basketball.
