Mr. Postman is a music teacher at RHES. He is from Yorktown, VA in the Hampton Roads region. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Music and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Virginia Tech. He worked as a band teacher in Bedford County and a substitute teacher in Prince William and Loudon counties before coming to Fairfax County. This is Mr. Postman’s 5th year at RHES. In addition to teaching, he enjoys baking, cooking, jogging, traveling, attending concerts and musicals, and watching Hokie football and basketball.
Mrs. Yoerges was born and raised in Sarasota, FL. She attended the University of Florida where she majored in music and played in the Gator Marching Band. Go Gators!!!! She was a classical flutist in the Pensacola Symphony in Florida and the Birmingham Symphony in Alabama for several years before moving to Washington DC. She played professionally here for a number of years and began teaching in Fairfax County in 1990. She also received her Master’s Degree in Music from George Mason University. Her pride and joy are her twin daughters, Jocelynn and Jillian, and her son, Danny, who are living in San Francisco and Illinois right now. In her spare time she plays tennis, does yoga, and (her newest obsession) GOLF!!! Most weekends you will find her on the golf course or on the tennis courts. Her favorite part of teaching music is being able to hear children sing every day. It’s her favorite sound in the world!
