Health and Physical Education
Ms. D’Amato is originally from a small town south of Seattle, but has lived in Northern Virginia for almost nine years. She studied International Business and Economics at Western Washington University before switching careers to teach. She completed her teaching program through Shenandoah University. She is starting her second year at Rose Hill Elementary and believes creating habits to lead an active, healthy lifestyle starts when you are young. She enjoys teaching many different kinds of activities to help students reach their goals and believes in leading by example. Her personal favorite activities are teaching Les Mills classes to adults, hiking, volleyball, and touring Europe – it’s a lot of walking!
Ms. Peevy is a graduate of West Virginia University. This is her 8th year teaching at Rose Hill. She is married to Phil, who is also an elementary physical education teacher in Fairfax County. They spend a lot of time at home talking about PE! She is a mom to 3 grown children-Scott, Colin, & Kayla and is also a grandma (Noni) to 6 beautiful grandchildren. In her spare time she loves to spend time outdoors hiking and kayaking. She loves to share her passion for physical activity and fitness with all the students at Rose Hill. One of her favorite roles outside of being a PE teacher is working with different students as a mentor in the in-school MentorWorks program.
