There are many programs at Rose Hill as well as in FCPS that support the implementation of evidence-based practices to increase the academic achievement and the social and emotional competence of students based on individual needs.
Mrs. Sadia is an Enhanced Autism teacher at Rose Hill. She teaches 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students. She received her masters in Special Education from Pakistan. She came to the USA 9 years ago. She joined Rose Hill in 2013 as an IA, and she worked in PAC and Enhanced Autism classrooms. She became a teacher in 2017, and this is her 2nd year as a teacher. She is doing her masters in curriculum and assessment from Strayer University. She is a proud Rose Hill parent of a 3rd grader and a 5th grader.
Mrs. Dolan is a Texas native who graduated with a Bachelor’s in Communication Science Disorders and Psychology from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana and a Master’s in Speech Language Pathology from Texas Tech Health Science Center in Lubbock, Texas. She is starting her 3rd year as an FCPS Speech Language Pathologist. On the weekends, Angela enjoys taking weekend trips with her husband, Beau.
Mrs. Dragonetti was born and raised in Mount Sinai, New York. She attended college at the Florida State University where she majored in Elementary Education. Mrs. Dragonetti received a dual master’s degree from St. John’s University in Special Education and Literacy. She began her teaching career as a Reading Specialist in New York before moving to Virginia and becoming a Special Education teacher. This is Mrs. Dragonetti’s 5th year teaching Special Education at Rose Hill Elementary. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband, Scott, and their dog, Petey.
Ms. Kim grew up in this area, and graduated from Bishop O’Connell HS in Falls Church. She met her husband while attending the University of Virginia, and she graduated with degrees in English Literature as well as Education. She has enjoyed teaching for almost 20 years in a variety of settings, from preschool to high school. Her time outside of school is divided among her three kids, reading, baking, and crafting.
This is Mrs. Prendergast’s second year at Rose Hill teaching Special Education with 4th grade and her 12th year in Fairfax County. She graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Elementary/Special Education at Grand Canyon University (GCU) in Phoenix, AZ. She is originally from New Jersey and has now lived in Northern Virginia for over 20 years. She and her husband have been married for 24 years. They have 2 young adults. Emily started her junior year at VCU and her son, Alex will start his junior year in Edison High School. Mrs. Prendergast loves to travel when time permits, to bake, to online shop from QVC, read and take long walks. One of her biggest challenges was to walk 40 miles over 2 days in Washington, DC for the Avon Breast Cancer Walk. This was a worthwhile experience that is extremely close to her heart.
This is Ms. Swenson’s 3rd year as a Rose Hill Rocket! She works in Rose Hill’s Enhanced Autism Program and is excited to be working with grades 3rd-6th this year. Ms. Swenson graduated from George Mason University and will complete her Master’s Degree in Special Education in January from Liberty University. She is passionate about her students and building meaningful bonds with each of them. She enjoys getting to know each of her students in order to provide a motivating and positive learning environment. Ms. Swenson is looking forward to a fantastic school year! GO ROCKETS!
Mrs. Bahret earned her Bachelor of Art degree in Public Relations and Strategic Communication from Purdue University and her Master of Special Education degree from George Mason University. Mrs. Bahret has been teaching preschool and elementary age students for 20 years. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is an avid fan of the Virginia Tech Hokies and Purdue Boilermakers football and basketball teams.
Mrs. Kern grew up in Western Maryland and came to this area after graduating school. She is married with 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Her favorite thing to do is to be with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loves doing road trips on weekends with her husband and reading is her favorite pastime.
Ms. Larbi was born in Ghana and graduated from Skeondi College (Ghana, West Africa) with a bachelors in Accounting. She has been with Rose Hill Elementary for 20 years. 18 of those years were in preschool as a Instructional Assistant and the last 2 years as General Ed (IA).
Ms. Rivero completed all of her primary education in the Edison cluster. She graduated from James Madison University with a B.S. in Communication Science Disorders. This is her first year at Rose Hill and is very excited to work with her new colleagues and children, especially those with speech language disorders as this is her strength. During her free time she likes to spend time with her family, baking and try out new restaurants.
Ms. Shojanezhad is an Instructional Assistant at RHES. She has her Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. Ms. Shojanezhad has worked in both private and public education systems. She loves traveling around the world with her family and she enjoys gardening.
Mrs. Triolo is in her third year at Rose Hill Elementary as an enhanced autism IA. She is originally from New York. She graduated from Wagner College where she went to school and earned her degree in elementary education with her BS in biology. She has three wonderful boys who are 11,13 and 15 years old. She has a wonderful husband whom she has been married to now for 19 years.
