The FCPS CARES Program is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care.

Laura was nominated by her colleague Ed Windhausen. Here is what he had to say:

"I have worked with Laura since 2018 in the early childhood class-based special education program. I have watched her care for and nurture her students each year. This year I have seen her go above and beyond what is required to ensure that her students make progress. While this is not atypical behavior for Laura, this year her case load presents multiple challenges. She continues to find creative ways to reach students on an individual level and celebrate with them even if their progress is not as she'd hoped. Laura engages students personally and her care for them is evident in all that she does. Her care, however, does not stop with her students. She supports their families as well. She is in daily communication with families to keep them apprised of what goes on in their child's classroom. Her teammates also benefit from her experience, expertise, and professionalism. She is always willing to help out in any way necessary. It is a joy and a pleasure to work with Laura. We are all richer for the experience of spending time with her."

We are so fortunate to have Laura as part of the Rose Hill family! If you have a Rose Hill staff member you’d like to nominate here is the link: FCPS Cares Link
