Ashley Mistretta
Ms. Mistretta is originally from just west of the Philadelphia area in Pennsylvania and has spent the last 6 years in the DC area teaching. She has been teaching since 2005. She has had the opportunity to teach a variety of grade levels and support teachers and students. Ms. Mistretta holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Mathematics Leadership. When Ms. Mistretta isn't at Rose Hill, you can find her on the softball field coaching and watching her daughter's play.
Sharon Smith
Mrs. Smith has worked for Fairfax County Public Schools for 12 years with the last 4 years at Rose Hill and Mount Eagle Elementary Schools. Prior to coming to FCPS, Mrs. Smith worked as a Security Analyst with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. She decided to make a career change from security to information technology after receiving her Master’s degree in Information Technology. She is married with 3 children and 3 granddaughters, which she got to enjoy this summer, and enjoys traveling. She is looking forward to a great school year with all of our Rose Hill family.
All students in grades K-5 have access to mobile laptop labs designated to each grade level and 2 mobile iPad lab for regular curricular enhancement or project based learning. Students learn computer skills ranging from using the mouse and becoming familiar with the keyboard to incorporating multimedia into projects. Students in grades 6 have 1-1 laptops meaning each student is assigned their own laptop to use for the year. Each classroom is equiped with a SMART Board, projector, student computers, and sometimes peripherals like document cameras. In addition, our staff utilizes technology resources such as streaming video, 24/7 Learning, Google Apps for Education, and student response systems and technology related units to enhance students' learning.
